We're handing the world's most powerful tool to the next generation, without a manual.

The challenge isn't the tool itself, but how we choose to use it. In education, the consequences are stark: students aged 17-25 show a -0.68 correlation between AI usage and critical thinking scores (Phys.org)

Research reveals AI-assisted students answered 48% more problems correctly but scored 17% lower on conceptual understanding tests (PubMed Central). They can execute, but struggle to reason. Meanwhile, student AI usage surged from 66% in 2024 to 92% in 2025, yet 89% of principals worry AI creates tech dependency. Note - we are only referring to schools with access and resources here, for the rest, the issues are very different.

Without frameworks for AI literacy, teaching students how and when to use AI, we risk raising the first generation less equipped than their parents. Not from lack of information, but inability to think critically about it.

The most powerful tool in history demands the most thoughtful implementation.

What's your institution doing to ensure AI enhances rather than erodes human capability?
